Across the bay a Fremont Police car was involved in an accident with a female motorcycles who also works for the department. It happened on fremont boulevard shortly before 4 00 this afternoon. The womans name has not been released but were told she was seriously injured and has worked for the department for 18 years. Her motorcycle hit a pickup then collided with the patrol car. Heres a photo sent by a ktvu viewer. The motorcyclists was the only person hurt. Officers say she is expected to survive. Reporter governor jerry brown is promising to sign legislation that would allow undocumented immigrants to obtain a california drivers license. The bill was sent to the governor late last night after being approved by lawmakers. The goal is to strengthen the rights of immigrants in california. It also includes some provisions. We caught up with governor brown. California recognizes these human beings are very important to our community, to our economy, and hopefully the people in washington will get the message. California is not the first to pass this type of legislation, nine states and the District Of Columbia currently issue drivers license to unlicensed immigrants. We broke this story on wednesday, you recall drivers were complaining that the new lights could be blinding. The led lights are said to use 60 less electricity than the old lights and last five times longer. But caltrans says they take a few weeks to burn in to a less intense level.
