we'll go for this and need to go for what it is we're fighting for. the white house say it is president is going to say what his plan is this week. so i took that to lawmakers on capitol hill. they said we heard that last week. we want to see it. >> correct. what is the catalyst that is going to cause the president to do something? because we seem to have catalysts quite often. people point out that most people that die from gun injuries in country don't die in mass shootings, actually, but they do tend to be the catalyst to get everybody talking about it. the president seems to have a remarkable ability to wait everybody out. >> he does. there was momentum and skepticism when everyone said this is the time, this is the time. >> yes. >> because there's so much momentum. with each passing day i think they lose a little bit of momentum. that's the challenge for the president. i think for lawmakers. what is the impetus here? i think this is something that the president wants to get done. it is something that bothers him as the commander in chief that this is happening on his watch.
