MSNBC The January 6th Hearings The House Investigates June 4, 2024 08:37:00

testified under oath those were exact quotations. that's got to be handy when you're conducting an investigation like this. >> jamie raskin, a member of the january 6th investigation, sir, thank you very much for your time this evening, i know it has been a long day and a pretty intense one. >> good evening, rachel. >> we are trying to recap today's hearing for our viewers, people who weren't able to watch it today or who just want it summed up but also to talk about the importance of what was revealed and one thing does stand out to me, as sort of different than the other revelations today which was news about a number of your republican colleagues, lots of republican members of congress apparently a half dozen, asking president trump for a pardon in conjunction with their actions to try to keep him in power after he lost the election. what is the significance of this information? what should we understand about why the committee has revealed this? >> well, it's of course not a crime in america to ask for a pardon. but i think common sense dictates that we see it as an indication of guilt or at least fear of prosecution.
