>> hey there, joshua. thank you. the stories we're watching this hour. forecasters say hurricane ida is rapidly intensifying. it's expected to hit the northern gulf coast sunday morning. ida could bring life threatening storm surge, catastrophic wind damage. today we saw the impacts on cuba. strong winds and currents devastated the western part of the island. trees were downed, agriculture areas were flooded and electric grids were damaged. ahead of ida making landfall in the u.s. fema shipped supplies d to louisiana. we're also seeing heavy traffic as residents head inland. and long ts a-lines at airports. earlier the mayor of new orleans urged residents to evacuate voluntarily. the city says emergency workers won't be able to reach residenty during the storm. more "the week" with joshua johnson after the break.e (vo) singing, or speaking.
