>> it is affecting 100 million and half of our nation. it will be affecting us in the form of sleet and snow, changing to freezing rain. well, as we look around our region, no travel problems, patchy ice, freezing up this morning. many loexzs are below freezing, the counties in blue to the north, under a winter storm watch. it does include these counties, fredrick, howard, carol and points north. all of this is going beginning to deteriorate. points north, cloudy to the south. we will have increasing clouds throughout the day. temperatures gradually falling, down in the 20s this afternoon, throughout the entire region as we hold steady in the low 30s and upper 20s. we could get sleet and light snow, in the mid 20s by dawn. and changing over from freezing rain on tuesday, icing on tree limbs and power lines, maybe power outages by tomorrow afternoon. that should change to rain, and warming up. with rain and all the snow, we could have flooding problems on wednesday. then, finally, drying out and turning colder on thursday. how is traffic? well, it is an all-star game. >> this is a massive storm, affecting a large part of the nation. looking at the radar. they are now existing st. mary's county, doorchester, and passing off to the east and continuing to move away. right now, as we take a look at the temperatures around the region, it is down in the 20s in the suburbs and rural areas, southern maryland and central virginia. and we have winter storm watches in effect for the panhandle, pennsylvania border, all the counties. howard is not included. this may be including some of your area as the day progresses, as we see how the storm evolves. right now, partly cloudy sky and clouds to the south. as the day progresses, we will have increasing clouds. all the the way to new york state, and they are all from the dakotas down to new mexico, and all the way over toward new england. a hugh area that will be affected. the most impact could be around chicago, where they could have a major blizzard. sunrise, 7:15, sunset, 5:28 and cloudy tonight. it looks like after midnight, light snow may be developing, missinging with sleep by dawn tomorrow. and then, changing over to freezing rain throughout the day. we will have a crust of ice on tree limbs and power line, it may cause power outages tomorrow, continues into tuesday night. rain likely, melting snow, in addition to rain, we could have flooding problemos wednesday. and sunshine back on thursday and friday. and maybe light snow saturday. jerry, how is traffic?
