Why Lil Wayne and Kodak Black and not other known incarcerated hip hop figures such as Bobby Shmurda, C-Murder or Big Meech. Baton Rouge rapper, Boosie Badazz took to Twitter to share his sentiments. It is unknown at the time of this article, what the qualifications were for the pardons - but no one is contesting the release of beloved rappers Wayne and Kodak. Lil' Wayne was arrested in Miami, Fla. on December 23, 2019 with one count of possessing a firearm and ammunition as a felon, and plead guilty on December 11, 2020.
