(WLNE) – President-Elect Joe Biden has nominated Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo to be the next United States Secretary of Commerce. Raimondo has been governor since 2015 and has had her share of critics over the years. She has also enjoyed significant support in the state, leading her to win a second term as governor in 2018. There have been times during her governorship when she had some of the lowest approval ratings for a governor anywhere in the country. So we want to know what you think: ....

(WLNE) – Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo is expected to be nominated to President-Elect Joe Biden’s cabinet, according to a report from the New York Times. The Times is reporting that Governor Raimondo is expected to be announced as Biden’s pick for Commerce Secretary. Rumors of such an appointment have been circulating for more than a week and the Governor’s office downplayed them just last week. ABC6 News has reached out to the Governor’s office for comment but has not yet heard back. There’s also been no confirmation from President-Elect Biden’s transition team. ....
