Cuomo addresses latest harassment allegations, again says he won't resign | State News


ALBANY — Two more former aides to Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo came forward Saturday and accused him of sexual harassment.
The governor responded Sunday to the latest allegations lodged against him and reiterated his intention to stay in office despite them.
“I’m not going to resign because of allegations,” he said on a phone call with reporters Sunday. “The premise of resigning because of allegations is actually anti-democratic.”
The governor said he was elected by the people of New York state, and the people must be the ones to decide if he should hold office or not.
When asked specifically about the latest sexual harassment allegations, the governor denied them. ....

Santa Fe’s Monroe Gallery of Photography is showing a rare collection of the Bronx-born photographer’s work capturing the people of East Harlem, New York, in 1947. The exhibit opens in the gallery and online at monroegallery.com on Feb. 12, continuing through April 11.

In 1947, East Harlem was a neighborhood of immigrants from poor and working-class backgrounds. During the Great Depression and Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal of the 1930s, the Photo League formed to document poverty and social issues. Wyman’s youthful idealism lured her to the group. ....
