PJ Hall for Most Improved Player and All-ACC 🗳

• PJ Hall is the most improved player in the ACC this season. Hall is +12.0 in PPG, +3.7 in RPG, +1.5 in APG and +1.0 block per game. Hall has increased his 3-point shooting by nearly 20.0 percent and despite the increased work load is shooting 48.9 percent this season, including a 52.3 effective field goal percentage. • Hall netted a career-high 28 points at Florida State (Feb. 15). He has three double-doubles, six 20-point games. He has grabbed a career-best 13 rebounds against Drake (Dec. 11) and has three double-digit rebounding games. • In conference play, Hall is averaging 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 blocks per game. He is shooting 48.6 percent from the field. • Hall is on pace to become the highest scoring post player at Clemson since Trevor Booker (2009-10; 15.2 ppg). • Hall has stepped into a full-time starting role this season after the departure of All-ACC player Aamir Simms. • Hall’s production has skyrocketed in numerous categories with the expanded playing time and vital role played while on the floor for the Tigers. • Hall’s 24.0 PER (Player Efficiency Rating) is fifth amongst sophomores in the ACC this season. • But with a Usage Percentage of 29.6, Hall is one of only two second-year players in the top four of the ACC this season. • The local product produced 25-straight double-digit scoring games, which included a career-high 28 points at FSU, three 22-point scoring games and one 20-point outing. • Hall notched a career-high 28 points at Florida State (Feb. 15) on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor. He also finished 12-for-13 at the foul line - another career best. • His 12 made free throws are the most since Milton Jennings made 16-of-18 on Jan. 27, 2013 against Virginia Tech. A 77-70 Tiger victory. • His fifth 20-point game came in a 24-point effort against North Carolina (Feb. 8). He finished 9-for-18 from the floor. • He totaled his first career double-double against Drake (Dec. 11) with 22 points and 13 rebounds. He garnered six boards on the offensive glass. • Hall turned in a stretch where he went 18-for-18 at the free throw line from Dec. 4 at Miami until Dec. 18 at home against South Carolina. He was 23-for-25 total in that stretch. • He has collected multiple blocks in five games this season, including a career-high three against St. Bonaventure (Nov. 19) and South Carolina (Dec. 18). • He has totaled three 3-pointers in a game on three occasions (vs. Wofford, vs. St. Bonaventure and vs. Virginia). • Hall is the first player since Jaron Blossomgame (Feb. 25, 2017 vs. Florida State) to finish at least 9-for-9 at the line in a game. • He is also just the fourth Tiger to do so during the Brad Brownell Era at Clemson.

PJ Hall Nets 20 Points in 70-65 Clemson Road Victory at NC State

Final StatsRALEIGH, N.C. — PJ Hall (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman) finished with a career-best 10 made field goals in his fourth 20-point effort of the season to lead Clemson University men’s basketball to victory on the road at NC State on Saturday. It was also Hall’s 14th consecutive double-digit scoring game this season.The victory marked the first in Raleigh for the Tigers since the 2014-15 season. Clemson won 68-57.The Tigers (10-5, 2-2 ACC) got 20 points, five rebounds and a career-high four blocks from Hall, while Al-Amir Dawes (Newark, N.J./The Patrick School) scored 16 points and added in five rebounds, three steals and two assists.The last Tiger to swat four shots in a game was Aamir Simms who finished with four at Miami in a 66-65 win on Jan. 2, 2021.Hunter Tyson (Monroe, N.C./Piedmont) finished with six points, seven rebounds and two assists.David Collins (Youngstown, Ohio/First Love Christian Academy) garnered his fourth double-digit rebounding game with 11 boards. Collins added five points, two assists and three steals. Nick Honor (Orlando, Fla./Lake Highland) knocked down four-straight free throws in the final eight seconds to help seal the victory. He finished with eight points and two assists.The Wolfpack (8-8, 1-4 ACC) got off to a lightning-fast start with three-straight triples for a 9-0 advantage, but the Tigers quickly responded behind an 18-4 run that gave them an eight-point lead. The Tigers took a 30-28 lead into halftime.Both teams would trade leads for most of the first half of the second stanza but with score knotted at 49-49, Clemson opened up a four-point lead behind back-to-back Hall dunks. A 7-0 run opened up a nine-point lead at 62-53 and the Tigers were able to execute down the stretch to seal the win.The Tigers led points in the paint by a resounding 24 points (44-20). Clemson got lots of clutch play from its bench throughout the game, including seven points on 3-for-3 shooting from Chase Hunter (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake) including lockdown defense. Naz Bohannon (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain) added five points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal to further prove his worthy status as a Sixth Man of the Year candidate.Clemson will remain on the road to begin the week when it travels north to Notre Dame for a 7 p.m. tip on Wednesday, Jan. 12.
