Individuals. A number of postal truck break ins san jose jumped from 5 last year to 16 so far this year. Many of the crimes happened within a onemile radius of this station near st. James park downtown. The thieves are breaking into the back of locked trucks while the carrier is out delivering mail. Its surprising. I mean maybe it needs security to follow them around. There needs to be better locks on the mail trucks. Maybe an alarm or something. Reporter the Postal Service says both packages and letters were stolen.
