If you haven’t already seen it yet, Terrebonne and Lafourche sidewalks are becoming more colorful with exercise stencils. The stencils, which were already available to use from the LSU AgCenter on the state level, include hopscotch, exercise stations, a numbers tree and other designs for all ages. Becky Gautreaux, area nutrition agent for the LSU AgCenter and of Live Healthy Thibodaux, said the idea stems from her daughter’s teacher, who wanted activities for her students to do so they could stay 6 feet apart due to COVID-19. The school s principal agreed, and the stencils were painted. Gautreaux posted the work she did on Facebook, and other residents asked if they could have paint stenciled at their schools, community centers and businesses. ....
