San Marcos Unified teacher goes off on parents critical of distance learning -

SAN MARCOS (KUSI) – As some California school districts still are not holding five days a week, in-person instruction for our students, frustration from both parents and teachers is growing.
San Marcos High School teacher Alissa Piro was recorded going off on students during a Zoom call after she dared parents to “come at” her because she was “sick” of them telling her how she should do her job.
Specifically, she was speaking to the parents who simply want their students back in the classroom full-time.
California is one of the only states in the country yet to resume in person classes, dozens of other states have proved it to be safe, but some of our teachers still refuse to return to the classroom.

For more than 70% of returning elementary schoolers, those hours will probably stretch from the end of in-person instruction at 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., though for some it may be from 8 a.m. until after lunch. And for 64% of middle schoolers, it could be several full days a week, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The video went viral over the weekend and parents and students are speaking out about the unhinged English teacher, Alissa Piro.
“It was upsetting and actually pretty shocking” Kimberly Imhoff told “Fox News Primetime.” “Whether our kids are in the classroom or they’re on a Zoom call, we’re putting our kids in the care of the teachers and we’re expecting that they’re going to be treated with respect and courtesy, and that’s clearly not what was going on during that particular Zoom class,” she said.

SAN MARCOS (KUSI) – A high school teacher was caught on Zoom ranting at students over parents’ complaints on virtual instruction and desires to return to in-person classes.
The video of Alissa Piro, an English teacher at San Marcos High School shows her telling students she dares their parents to speak to her over issues surrounding virtual classes.
San Marcos Unified School District interim superintendent Tiffany Campbell said in a statement that an employee had been placed on administrative leave.
A member of a group of North County public school parents that sued California Gov. Gavin Newsom and other state leaders over the reopening of public schools, arguing that the requirements are unfair joined Good Morning San Diego to discuss the rant.
