Brunaugh, Patterson honored by Rotary Ron DeBrock, ronald.debrock@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail 5of5 ALTON Sydney Brunaugh and Jimmeilia Patterson of Alton High School have been named Students of the Month for May by the Alton Godfrey Rotary Club. Brunaugh, the daughter of Jason and Nikki Brunaugh of Alton, is a member of the National Honor Society and currently has a 4.385 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, placing her in the top five percent of the senior class. She also was named as a Silver Medallion winner. She was elected as the treasurer for Mu Alpha Theta, the math honor society and also participated in Saturday Scholars and the physics club. As a freshman, she was named Student of the Year in Digital Photography. ....

The This year the Grandpa Gang has increased donations to area community organizations following record attendance during the 2020 holiday event, with nearly $65,000 was distributed to 53 organizations. Despite COVID-19 precautions limiting some displays last year, a record number of visitors attended Christmas Wonderland during the 2020 holiday season meaning the volunteer Grandpa Gang is able to increase its donations to local organizations. ....
Hernandez, Parrett honored by Alton-Godfrey Rotary The Telegraph FacebookTwitterEmail 5of5 ALTON Abbie Hernandez of Marquette Catholic High School and Rowan Parrett of Alton High School have been named Students of the Month for March by the Alton-Godfrey Rotary Club. Hernandez, the daughter of Timothy Hernandez and Carrie Stewart of Godfrey, attended Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School. At Marquette Catholic High School she has maintained a GPA above 4.0 while being in a full honors course of study all four years of high school, which led to her selection as a St. Louis Post-Dispatch “A” Student each year and being inducted into the Rose Morelli chapter of National Honor Society her junior year. ....
Spangler, Moginot honored by Rotary Ron DeBrock, ronald.debrock@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail 5of5 ALTON Olivia Spangler, of Alton High School, and Ben Moginot, of Marquette Catholic High School in Alton, have been named Students of the Month for February 2021 by the Alton-Godfrey Rotary Club. Because of the Covid-19 restrictions in the area, the club has decided to suspend meetings for a short time. However, it is not suspending honoring exceptional students from the community. Spangler, the daughter of Scott and Stacey Spangler of Godfrey, is president of the Alton High School Class of 2021 and ranks 13th in a class of more than 500 seniors in grade point average. She also posted an SAT score of more than 1500. ....
