the antitrump vote that seems to be very important part of nikki hailey's coalition. our poll found 43% of her support rs saying they're going to vote for joe biden in the general election, making her candidacy and coalition a lot different than the other republicans that are running here. >> and donald trump has seized on that factor to say he's not a true conservative. charlie, how much will the result of iowa really affect the primaries to come in the early states? does that depend entirely on how well trump does? >> it's not always predictive otherwise ted cruz would have been president or mike huckabee or rick santorum. new hampshire voters are notoriously independent. but as mark just mentioned, donald trump has one fire wall after another coming up after new hampshire. whatever happens in new hampshire, you roll into south carolina, places like nevada where donald trump continues to have a huge margin and the reality is that nikki haley cannot put together a republican
republicans, his legal risks are political risks for the gop. it's incumbent on mr. trump's republican opponents to make the case directly to gop voters that they shouldn't roll the dice. the way to restore impartial justice is to nominate a candidate who can beat an aging and politically vulnerable president biden. the argument some supporters will make, the new poll that's out today, a lot of folks are worried about joe biden's age. far fewer are worried about the age of the former president. i think it's 74. 51%. what do you make of that? >> i saw one poll, a morning consult of just national, immediate post debate. i was struck by chris christie's number, which was 33%. that's exactly the portion of the gop primary electorate that is antitrump or doesn't want trump. that other two-thirds is still there. so how do you win the nomination
more importantly you need to hone a message that is hyper critical of donald trump and beat on it every single day until iowa. >> what do you make of this messaging as you talk about messaging there, right, the super pac making this antitrump ad about being too chummy with dictators. interesting they bring up putin. he's obviously in the news not just because of the war in ukraine but because of this rebellion, 24/48 hour rebellion led by the wagner mercenary group as well. do you think that resonates with voters here in the united states? >> you know, when i was doing the bush stuff years ago, the most compelling value that republican primary voters focused on was are you a strong and decisive leader, and i think that's what's behind this ad. it's not so much about the dynamics of vladimir putin or the dynamics of north korea, it's more about undercutting donald trump's strength as a strong leader, and i think he has such an advantage on that,
desperate to leave trump hupd. even as ron desantis faced attacks from trump, it also remains among the grass roots. we're about to test that. trump has a pretty commanding lead right now. i don't know if any rules apply. if you go back in history, if the person is known, the front runner is known and has a big lead early on, they are hard to take out. >> which is why there's a little bit. you see in that piece, ron desantis kind of ready for him to launch. but time will tell. i do think it's premature to judge how desantis will do. he's only done these stops where there's a lot of things that we haven't seen yet from him. so i think there has been maybe a push to set him aside. but we haven't even started yet. >> how does the antitrump perform in this race. there is really a two-man race.
was a way for her to use this case or these allegations to seek attention, status and even money. he asked about the income she's made as an vice columnist. he questioned why she went to social events with antitrump figures around the court appearances. he asked about her exchanges with kathy griffin. tacopina questioning why carroll did not call police about what she alleges was the assault at the time. carroll's response is i am a member of the silent generation. women like me were taught and trained to keep our chins up and to not complain. at another point tacopina asked about a conversation with george conway, a lawyer who's known to be also critical of trump trying to suggest that basically maybe conway had somehow suggested, exaggerated or even created the idea that carroll should sue trump.
near where republican congresswoman marjorie taylor greene is planning to have a protest this hour. also joining us, former fbi assistant director for counterintelligence, frank figliuzzi. ron, to you here, what are you seeing where you are i see a lot of people behind you, but a lot of media. >> yeah, a lot of media. we're in a park across the street from the courthouse over in that direction. on this side you have trump supporters, you can see the red maga hats, you can see the flags for donald trump there is a small determined band of protesters, demonstrators and a lot of media we're in a very enclosed area in this park. the police have sort of corralled people in here and they're trying to keep the sides separated. on that side is trump. if you pan over on the other side over here, past this barrier, there are some supporters of antitrump demonstrators over there you can see the signs saying things like trump jails, we believe stormy daniels, that

election. talked about how it was an honor to shake rudy giuliani's hand. it's not so easy to pigeon hole her as someone who's antitrump if an indictment ends up coming from him, if that's what the trump team wants to try to do. >> for those of us who are news junkies and who have followed the election and what has happened in the after math of it, this is a little bit of a rude awakening to learn that there are americans out there who don't follow the details in a way that's very good news. it suggests that it will be possible if there are indictments to get a jury that will be objective, that will hear the evidence for the first time in the courtroom, that won't walk in with any sort of bias that would prevent justice from being done. and so while these kind of interviews are something that you never want to see as a prosecutor, i'm sure that fulton county district attorney fani willis is not happy about these developments, ultimately this would have little to do with the
