A burglary and theft at the Southbury Training School campus that took place earlier this month is now under investigation by state police. Somebody broke into a building, used for administrative purposes and repairs of equipment like wheelchairs and hospital beds, and stole about $500 worth of tools. State Police say there was also about $200 in property damage. Anyone with information is asked to contact Connecticut State Police, who say all information will be kept confidential.

Danbury officials admit they are a little behind on some audits, so they have seeked out a consultant to speed up city financial reports. A$100,000 appropriation has been authorized by City Council to help the city catch up on its overdue audit for the fiscal year 2022 combined city and Board of Education budget. The delays were reportedly caused by a prolonged delay in completing the combined audit of the city’s 2021 general and education budgets.

The town of New Fairfield is seeking a $500,000 grant for its first town green. It was back in December 2021, when the town of New Fairfield purchased 13 and 15 Route 37 with a vision at that time, of turning the properties into a town green. Now, two years later, plans for building a public downtown gathering space are moving forward. New Fairfield has applied for a $500,000 grant through the state’s Small Town Economic Assistance Program that would cover half the estimated cost.

The Danbury Music Centre is presenting An Evening of Chamber Music tonight, at the Centre’s Anderson Recital Hall on Main Street in Danbury. Members will perform in their chamber ensembles to raise money for the programs of the Danbury Music Centre. Donations will be accepted at the door, and parking is available on the street and in the Bardo Parking Garage directly behind the Danbury Music Centre on Library Place. Handicapped parking is available in the garage adjacent to the elevators.

A man from Ridgefield has been arrested by Danbury Police in connection with a stabbing that happened last month in Danbury. 29 year old Zachary Orsher is now facing charges including second degree assault and disorderly conduct after the incident involving a box cutter that happened back on August 26th at a home on Washington Avenue in Danbury as Orsher and the other man argued over money. The victim was treated at Danbury Hospital. Orsher turned himself in, but when he did he was found to be in possession of metal brass knuckles, so he also now faces an additional felony charge of carrying a...
