Sam Suchmann and Mattie Zufelt have a knack for getting what they want a tickle out of a television star’s bodyguard, a blood-drenched boat for a movie scene they’re shooting or a towering chocolate fountain during a Conan O’Brien appearance.
They ask some might say insist and they usually get what they want.
It’s a charm shared by these two friends, Special Olympians from Providence and Bristol, respectively, and displayed in a new documentary that follows their big-screen breakthrough from initial idea through fundraising, scripting, casting and filming around the state a few summers ago. The 100-minute film, “Sam & Mattie Make a Zombie Movie,” is now available on video-on-demand platforms.
