Frontline staff in the north-east are continuing to feel the mounting pressures after announcing they were on ‘code black’ status last week.
NHS Grampian and NHS Highland continue to experience high levels of demand across health and social care services.
It has been described as a fluctuating situation which is being monitored closely by the health boards.
‘High levels of demand’
This week, the health boards are still continuing to experience high levels of demand with hospitals under huge pressure.
A spokesman for NHS Highland explained that they had reassessed the position and no longer consider Raigmore Hospital to be on ‘code black’, despite the continued pressure they face.

Hospital admissions could increase over Easter weekend

Cameron Matthew.
Frontline health workers have urged members of the public to “be responsible” to help reduce hospital admissions over Easter.
Medics made the plea with hospitals in the region still facing extra pressure due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Last weekend was particularly challenging for staff at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary’s Emergency Department with a surge in people needed treated and medics are keen to avoid a repeat this weekend with lockdown rules easing.
The ‘stay at home’ rule was relaxed yesterday.
‘Have fun but please take care’
Consultant Louise McCulloch said: “Go outside, see your friends, have fun as far the rules allow, enjoy this step towards some normality, but please take care.

They may sound like something from science fiction, but Aberdeen’s new “robot surgeons” are expected to have a very real impact at the north-east’s flagship hospital.
Announcing the purchase of the cutting-edge technology today, north-east health chiefs explained how the equipment will reduce waiting times for patients and increase capacity.
The health board has acquired three new robots to join their surgical team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as part of a £3.5 million investment in improving patient care in the region.

North-east hospital patients to benefit from new surgical robots
NHS Grampian has unveiled three new surgical robots as part of a £3.5 million investment in improving patient care and reducing waiting times in the region.
Medics in the north-east were the first at a board in Scotland to have a robotic-assisted surgical system in 2015, and since then have seen improved and shorter recovery times for those who are operated on using them.
The latest cutting-edge surgical technology, two new da Vinci Xi robots, and a Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery System for orthopaedic joint replacement surgery, comes as NHS Grampian moves to increase capacity, as it looks to emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic to treat more patients more quickly.
