The victim woke up as it was happening and was able to free herself and get away. Police say she was origionally with friends that night but was seperated from them as the evening progressed. At one point she flagged down a cab. Police say sanchez was driving that cab. They say hes part of a small cab Company Called checkered flag yellow taxi. The car he drove also listed the site e taxiit dot com. sot being a young woman and in campbell its definitely nerve racking and scary because you think of all your friends and just hope that Something Like that never happens. Reporter detectives believe sanchez sexually assaultaed another woman in a separate instance. They say most of the circumstances in that case were different but the victim was also intoxicated. Those we talked said this news is upsetting and disheartening. sot it can definitely come off as the ultimate horror story that can be taken that far because you want to be able to trust the person that is driving and when that trust
That attempted carjacking happened at a parking garage. Police have released photos of the two suspects. We get the story now from amber lee, in the mission tonight after speaking exclusively with the victim about what happened. Reporter frank, were just outside the apartment complex where the Armed Robbery took place. The victim says shes scared, and asked us not to identify her. Could be any mom. Thats what i think is scary. Just that it happened in an alley. Reporter a 36yearold and her baby live in this large apartment complex. Surveillance cameras captured the two suspects walking into the garage. The single mom says she had pulled into her space when the two suspects approached her. She said the security gate in the garage was not working that day. This happened in our building where we live. They came in. Initially, he was going to make it a monument just dedicated to shaw himself. If you look at some of the examples we have in the case behind you you will see that one of his first ideas for the monument was to depict colonel Robert Gould Shaw on a horse. That kind of depiction is often referred to as the man on the mount. However, colonel shaws family objected to that. They thought such a depiction was too grand a way to show their young son.
