Puppeteer Ralph Lee of Mettawee River Theatre Company dies at 87, founded Greenwich Village Halloween parade
Ralph Lee, the New York mask and puppetry designer most widely known for his "Land Shark" on Saturday Night Live, died May 12. He was 87.
In 1974 he decided it would be fun to parade through Greenwich Village with some of his creations on Halloween. A tradition was born.
