The holiday inn just before 4 00 this morning. We are maybe blocks away from i35 80 between Hoover High School and urbandale high school. The police are here from urbandale and the dci as well. Right now, when i mentioned earlier, Police Called just after 4 00 this morning on the report of a drug complaint. Whether that was use or a possible sale, we are not sure. Three people met the officers in the lobby, a fight ensued, and one suspect pulled out a gun. That is when Urbandale Police returned fire. Two women are currently in custody. Urbandale Police Responded very quickly and now dci is on the scene. Recovering after being attacked by an inmate inside the mitchellville womens prison. The man was one of four Corrections Officers injured in the fight. It happened tuesday in the prisons dining hall. The Union Representing the officers says the incident could have been prevented if more staff been on duty. They also say officers should be able to carry pepper spray inside the prison. And here they got the pepper spray locked up in the captains office and ya gotta run back and get permission to get it and by the time thats don the incidents over.
