saying, you know, ignore ron paul win if he does take iowa, focus on who came in second and i asked ron paul if he was offended by that and he said, maybe the governor's remarks were taken out of context but he is not the first to say that if it is a ron paul win it is a weird event and republicans should move on but that doesn't risk alienating ron paul and all the supporters? >>guest: his supporters are far nat california and not just risk alienating but misses the message. the message is that people are so disaffected by the traditional candidates and the ones that come from more traditional republican point of view, and their anger has moved them to the libertarian on the republican side. because his message is not classic republican, it is hardcore, old fashioned, libertarian im. and that would be a message and it would have significance at least in that regard.

>>neil: those who are careful to wait, the last minute shoppers, are they rewarded? >>guest: they will win. retailers have been disciplined after a few disappointing seasons and they were lean on the inventory so you had to buy it when you saw it. this year those that held out are really going to benefit from the entire store 40 percent and 50 percent and 60 percent off sales. >>neil: do you think the retailers put themselves in a bind by, in other words, unless you see a sale, you don't buy in so, they have a sale, and unless it is a big sale, you keep pushing it? >>guest: it does. but, again, when they are sitting there with inventory levels that are in check they don't have to panic like that. but this year they got too aggressive, you have a difficult calendar with christmas falling on sunday, so, that super saturday, that is a top two shopping day of the year, they just could not wait to see if things were materialized.
