The chief scientific adviser to the British Government today said although the number of officially confirmed cases of coronavirus in the uk is just under 600, he believes this is the top science adviser to the government that a more realistic snapshot of how many cases there are in the uk would be more like 5,000 to 10,000. The British Government announced yesterday that they will move to rapidly upscale the number of tests they are doing. They are currently carrying out about 1,500.
