these pictures show complete devastation, wiped out homes. look at that. you have one frame of one brick home, not even wood home, brick home standing there. everything is completely gone. look across the street you can see a house that is standing that is completely untouched right across the street. it shows how actually discriminating this fire was destroying one home and leaving others untouched. interestingly, too, the lawn in front of that home is green and not charred. the home is completely destroyed. this is coming from a lot of people that were evacuated, the thousands of people evacuated. they are getting the chance to come back. they are being bussed in by the government to take a look at the damage to see if their home was saved or if their home was destroyed or not. let s take a listen in to this video. grab that and extended that out to try to fight the fire out here. so now the remains of the hose and that continues up where they cut down some trees to ....

day. it looks like the fire came over the chest back there. you can see the fire coming over the mountain. we know this is one of the risks that we have here. we are doing it strategically so we can get the people and their biggest threat done first. very scary. we started with manitou avenue north of. banging on my window. he was asleep. so i pounded on his door to get him out. that s pretty scary. it is right there. orange, a lot of orange. when you look at it coming down, she is backing down the hill, which is not what we normally see. all these fine people came to help me. they are helping me move out. i have a few thousand art works there. rocky, a fixture in manitou, art is his passion. two or three, almost 1,000 artworks in there. she has enough energy to move down. she is going to burn up into that canyon and start throwing embers. limited access, vegetation right up against houses. houses in places where there shouldn t be houses. it ....

reporter: from what we understand, rodney king s fiancee called police shortly after 5:00 this morning. she heard a splash in the pool. before that they had been talking. she called the paramedics. police arrived and took rodney king out of the pool and did everything they could to revive rodney king. cpr failed. they took him to a local hospital. all their efforts did not pan out. rodney king was not revived. we do know rodney king was an avid swimmer. it was part of his physical therapy. we talked to him at cnn recently and he explained how he went into the pool and kind of used the pool as a sanctuary. they didn t find anything around the pool. right now, the preliminary investigation is indicating it appears mr. king died of a drowning. however, the police department, the detective bureau is investigating the incident. there were no obvious signs of trauma. police also said there were no signs whatsoever, at least at this point, of any foul play. rodney king r ....
