In regard to HB24-1363, Charter Schools Accountability, I am concerned that Gov. Jared Polis has weighed in as a strong opponent of this bill. As the head of the executive branch, should not the governor refrain from expressing an opinion when the bill is still in committee? Why would he violate constitutionally established provisions regarding separation of powers? And why would he not be in favor of the same transparency and accountability applied to traditional public schools?
