A federal COPS grant of $119,329 will fund a position, but it doesn’t find a person to take the job.

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and members of Ohio’s Congressional delegation welcomed a $16,093,311 investment to hire and retain 129 law enforcement officers to serve 21 communities and law enforcement agencies across Ohio. Included in the investment is $125,000 to the Village of Greenfield to hire one new law enforcement officer. 

Connecticut is slated to receive $8.8 million in federal public safety grants, including more than $3 million for the Hartford Police Department to hire 10 officers, according to a press release issued Friday by the U.S. Justice Department.
