bret: i agree with you having been on the ground it s tough and the military did an amazing job divhoog they did; however, with the decisions that were made, how we did it and the closing of bagram air base and the stopping of air cover for the afghan forces. seemed like it was a confluence that could have been done differently. it certainly could have been done differently. i do think that president biden is getting a lot of unfair criticism for having made the tough decision that so many before him would not make. and that was to acknowledge that we weren t going to be able to sustain an afghan government forever. that it just-that that mission was not working. the big criticism i have and we talked about this in our hearings in the armed services committee and our meetings at the defense department back in january and february, we should have gotten the civilians out sooner. we should have started that process in march and april. they were still going through the normal siv proc ....
