The XM813 cannon forms part of the Stryker Medium Caliber Weapon System 30mm Lethality Upgrade programme.
US Army Contracting Command has awarded a $105.69 million contract modification to Alliant Techsystems Operations (part of Northrop Grumman) to produce, deliver, and maintain new-production configuration 30x173 mm XM813 cannons.
Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of 24 September 2026, the DoD announced on 7 May.
Alliant Techsystems Operations was awarded the original $37.67 million contract in September 2020 to buy long-lead XM813 items for the Stryker Medium Caliber Weapon System 30mm Lethality Upgrade programme. ....

Demand remains high in the US Army for heavy tactical vehicles.
Oshkosh Defense has received a contract extension from the US Army for continued production and modernisation of its Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicles (FHTV).
The three-year FHTV IV extension from US Army Contracting Command is accompanied by initial delivery orders worth $146.8 million for 353 new and modernised vehicles, the US manufacturer announced on 3 May.
Oshkosh designed the FHTV to support various roles, with a flexible architecture to accommodate capabilities such as condition-based maintenance, advanced driver assistance systems, autonomy, onboard power ‘and other proven technologies’, the company claimed. ....

The U.S. Army Contracting Command announced that it has awarded Oshkosh Defense a three-year extension to the Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicles (FHTV) IV contract and initial delivery orders valued at $146.8 million.
Under the extension, Oshkosh will provide new and recapitalized Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks (HEMTT), Palletized Load System (PLS) trucks and trailers, and Heavy Equipment Transporters (HET). The initial delivery orders call for a total of 353 new and recapitalized vehicles.
The FHTV s architecture accommodates additional capabilities such as Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomy, on-board power, and other technologies. ....

Lithuania and Taiwan to receive more Javelins - Land Warfare

Existing FMS customers will obtain additional FGM-148 Javelin ATGM systems.
The Javelin JV between Raytheon and Lockheed Martin has obtained another modification from the US Army to its full-rate production contract for the FGM-148 Javelin weapon system.
Under the latest $175.94 million modification, the JV will produce ATGMs for FMS customers Lithuania and Taiwan.
Work will be performed in Tucson, Arizona, with an estimated completion date of 30 November 2023.
According to data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Lithuania received 160 Javelin missiles between 2003 and 2020 and 750 were delivered to Taiwan between 2005 and 2020. ....

Raytheon and Lockheed Martin Javelin have won a $175 million+ modification contract to provide the US Army with more Javelin Weapon System, including sales to Lithuania and Taiwan, the US Department of Defense announced in a press release.
“Raytheon/Lockheed Martin Javelin [in] Tucson, Arizona, was awarded a $175,936,936 modification …contract for the Javelin Weapon System, the release said on Tuesday.
Javelin is a versatile, man-portable, fire-and-forget weapon system. It is an anti-tank-guided munition that can be carried and launched by a single person. It is made by the Javelin Joint Venture, a partnership between Raytheon Missiles & Defense and Lockheed Martin. ....
