Survey: Most New Yorkers Support Legal Weed But Not Near Their Home As marijuana legalization in New York continues to be on the fast track, with  Gov. Andrew Cuomo expressing his support, an issue of cannabis retail locations arises. According to the Consensus Strategies' study, 52% of New Yorker City residents oppose marijuana sales in their neighborhoods. Alabama has legalized medical marijuana. The state’s Senate approved the bill, sponsored by Sen. Tim Melson, in a 21-8 vote on Wednesday. The bill was approved by the state’s Senate committee earlier this month and sent to the full floor for review. The legislation allows people with qualifying conditions to utilize cannabis for therapeutic reasons.
