good morning, i m torey campbell. it is thursday, june 23rd, a new twist in the oscar grant shooting. a lawsuit has been filed with already his lawyer, in a you tube video posted a couple of weeks ago, going further, saying more could have been done to save grant s life. in the oscar grant case, it s pretty clear that the first responder, oakland fire, mishandled the case, the paramedics only treated one of the wounds. theres was an entry and an exit wound, only treated one of the wounds with an air tight dressing and since this is a chest injury, it must be treated with an airtight treatment and the failure to treat it with as air tight treatment can be fatal and is well-known to be fatal. already it s important to note that in the messerly trial, it was testified that the bullet did not exit the body, calling it a near exit wound. wept further to say that direct pressure would if the have changed oscar grant s life. the incompetent rim fire chief said ....

topping news this noontime, oakland police chief anthony batts says he is staying. there were concerns the 50-year- old chief would leave after it was revealed he was a final candidate for the police chief job in san jose. a job that he ultimately did not get. batts has expressed dissatisfaction over the reduced number of officers, and operational problems such as patrol cars that are out of service, and police radios that don t always work. in a written statement, batts said he was he has talked with the mayor and members of the city council and quote, they have been said they understand the needs of the police officers who work diligently for the residents of oakland, and they are willing to work with me to address those needs. chief batts is scheduled to meet with the media in about 15 minutes. we plan to bring that you live. we ll also have the story on ktvu channel 2 news at 5:00 and 6:00 plus more on our website, ktvu.com. a big bar fight early this morning se ....
