"We were just robbed at gunpoint in Khayelitsha after doing a crossing," Mortlock wrote on Twitter.
We were just robbed at gunpoint in Khayelitsha after doing a crossing. Now my colleague and I have to deal with an inept police officer telling us we can't open the case at this station (a 2 min drive from where it happened) because it's not in their jurisdiction WTF— Monique Mortlock (@MoniqueMortlock) April 7, 2021
Earlier this year, Mortlock was allegedly assaulted by Craig Peiser during an anti-lockdown interview attempt.

February –  a month dedicated to romance and declarations of love in many cultures – was peppered with more setbacks than triumphs. While continental creative advocacy went global and Angola repealed the criminalisation of homosexuality, homophobia rose up the ranks in Ghana, intimate partner violence took centre stage, Nigerian journalists were kidnapped for ransom and a British journalist was expelled from Mozambique.

Cape Town - The man accused of assaulting eNCA journalist Monique Mortlock has been declared unfit to stand trial and has been admitted to Valkenberg Hospital.
Craig Peiser, head organiser of the We Are More (WAM) movement, was arrested for assault and contravening the country's Covid-19 regulations during a weekend protest on February 6. He was accused of ripping the mask off Mortlock’s face.
After his arrest, Peiser appeared in Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court the following Monday where he was rambling and yelling in court, which resulted in the magistrate remanding him in custody.
