Arthur strengthened to a category 2 hurricane last night with winds of about 100 miles per hour. The worst appears to be over for the outer banks of mcincome azar thur heads into the atlantic ocean. The hurricane made landfall just after 11 00 p. M. Near cape lookout. North carolina governor declared a state of emergency for 25 coastal and ajoining counties.
