Heavy snowfall is causing severe disruption for travellers in parts of the uk this morning. An amber weather alert is in place for wales, the midlands and southern england. Up to 28cm of snow has been recorded in some areas. Police are warning of treacherous driving conditions, while birmingham and stansted airports have closed due to heavy snowfall.
