going to produce a tornado is directional wind shear, right there at sea level in new york, you had that moisture coming up out of the south and a strong jet stream entering out of the northeast and winds out of the southwest higher up. so thinking in three dimensions that gets these storms to begin to rotate and you see the tornado icon over long island. those were the tornadoes we had earlier in the day. and right now just checking the airports, laguardia, jfk, teterboro airport, and new york, new jersey, and new york airports seeing ground stops because of the severe weather movin...
