In doing a paper, i actually came across an article that was in the southern southeastern geographer, and the article explored the symbolic meaning of lee to the city. This is about richmond. It is now mostly africanamerican. And the argument was that, i guess they had redone the canal area. Theres this big mural of robert e. Lee there. And its like the africanamerican population demanded that it be taken down. And so it does seem like there is a real expression of political power in that city now. Well, its an interesting place.
