TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State track and field team is looking for a historic weekend at the NCAA Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. Action will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and 5:10 p.m. on Saturday with coverage on ESPN3. ESPNU will re-air the championships on Sunday night beginning at 9:30 p.m. The Noles will be sending seven athletes to Birmingham. Trey Cunningham (60m Hurdles), Isaac Grimes (Long Jump), Ahmed Muhumed (5000m Run), Don'dre Swint (60m Dash), Adriaan Wildschutt (5000m Run), Edidiong Odiong (60m Dash) and Lauren Ryan (3000m Run) all qualified for the championships. The Noles will be looking for their first indoor national champion since 2014 when Dentarius Locke and James Harris took home the titles. The Noles have a great chance at breaking the streak this weekend with three Noles holding the top time in the NCAA in their events. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State track and field team will head to Blacksburg, Va., for the 2021 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Events will begin on Thursday and conclude on Saturday at the Rector Field House on the campus Virginia Tech. Friday's and Saturday's action will be streamed on ACCNX. Quick Sprints The Noles enter the 2022 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships as the defending champions on the women’s side. The Noles have won 17 (13 men’s, 4 women’s) ACC Indoor Championships. Head Coach Bob Braman is in his 18th year as the head coach of the Florida State track and field team Braman leads all active ACC coaches with 15 ACC Indoor Championships. Braman brought in three new assistant coaches in Alex Midgett (Distance), Doug Reynolds (Throws) and Leevan Sands (Jumps). TALLAHASSEE, Fla - The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Adriaan Wildschutt and Lauren Ryan each earned ACC Performer of the Week honors on Tuesday afternoon. Ryan was the outright winner of the award while Wildschutt shared this week's honors with Yared Nuguse of Notre Dame. Ryan and Wildschutt became the sixth and seventh Noles to earn ACC Performer of the Week honors this season. This is Ryan's second time being named ACC Performer of the Week after winning the award on Feb. 1. Ryan had a record-breaking weekend at the David Hemery Valentine Invite, as she broke the school record and the ACC record in the 3000m run. Ryan ran an 8:47.88 which is the fourth-fastest time in NCAA history and is just six seconds off of the collegiate record. Ryan also reached the Australian standard to qualify for the World Indoor Championship.
