Gordon McLaughlin announces reelection campaign for 8th Judicial District Attorney seat
McLaughlin announced the news on X, formerly Twitter, Sunday, writing in his post that in his three-year tenure the office has "delivered real results through innovative improvements to community safety, nation-leading transparency (and) bringing justice to victims."

Dawn Downs running for 8th Judicial District Attorney seat
Downs served with the DA's Office for 14 years and oversaw cases ranging from homicides to violent assaults to arson and more, according to her announcement release. She was ultimately promoted to Chief Deputy District Attorney where she supervised the District Court Felony Division, which included 17 attorneys and several administrative staff.
