Panama- Shelter abuse protests enter fifth day


(MENAFN - Newsroom Panama) Civil society groups demonstrated for the fourth day on Tuesday, February 16, in front of the headquarters of the National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and the Family ( Senniaf ), in the Calidonia district.
Since last week, when a report by the  National  Assembly committee for Women, Children, Youth delivered its report on abuse and mistreatment of minors in shelters, days of protests have been at the headquarters.
Cries of Justice for our children were accompanied by the banging of pots. They carried read banners that said: Children do not lie, their abusers do; Who protects our children? , we demand justice !; Enough!; The state knew . no more indifference. ....

The World Health Organisation has thanked India for continued support in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. India has been sending vaccines to countries in the South Asian neighbourhood and to others like Brazil and Morocco. South Africa will also get the vaccine soon.
Thank you #India and Prime Minister @narendramodi for your continued support to the global #COVID19 response. Only if we #ACTogether, including sharing of knowledge, can we stop this virus and save lives and livelihoods, WHO director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus tweeted.
The WHO chief s tweet comes hours after a similar tweet by Brazilian President Jair M Bolsonaro, who thanked India for the vaccines. ....
