Whipped up through the hills. Homes were damaged on bay hurst. Helicopters doused these streets with a pink kas kads of fire retardant that coated homes, coated driveways and cars. It was a harrowing afternoon for residents who debated making a run for it as they watched the fire skirt through open space in between their homes. Everybody was praising the fire firefighters for how good a job they did protecting homes. It could have been much worse up here. Meteorologist jeff ranieri is tracking another spike on the way. It looks like well be in the 101 to 110 degree category tomorrow. Today, it was as warm as 10 in brentwood, 105 in danville and concord 104. Thursday hot High Pressure moves directly on top of the bay area. That brings us the hottest weather of the week. Especially for the valleys as our temperatures are already starting to climb, but i want to show you some record High Temperatures. What were forecasting, and what the records are set for today. San rafael, thele forecast is 89, and the record is 99. So we should not set any records here. Looking at napa, were going to be very close and well be watching that thermometer going up, but this record was set back in 1981, and we are also watching some other longstanding records like the one for livermore, the record is 110, that was set back in 1961. So we are already feeling the heat, and we have excessive heat warnings in effect for all of these areas shaded in orange. Thats where the temperatures will be the highest.
