"A taxonomy of design factors in constructed wetland-microbial fuel cel" by Atieh Ebrahimi, Muttucumaru Sivakumar et al.

Abstract
The past decade has seen the rapid development of constructed wetland-microbial fuel cell (CW-MFC) technology in many aspects. The first publication on the combination of constructed wetland (CW) and microbial fuel cell (MFC) appeared in 2012, subsequently, research on the subject has grown exponentially to improve the performance of CW-MFCs in their dual roles of wastewater treatment and power generation. Although significant research has been conducted on this technology worldwide, a comprehensive and critical review of effective controlling parameters is lacking. More broadly, research is needed to draw up-to-date conclusions on recent developments and to identify knowledge gaps for further studies. This review paper systematically enumerates and reviews research studies published in this area to determine the key design factors and their role in CW-MFC performance. Moreover, a taxonomy of all CW-MFC design parameters has been synthesised from the literature. Impor ....

Scientists from Loughborough University and the University of Liverpool have been collaborating with the British company Johnson Matthey a pioneer in sustainable technologies to enhance the lithium-oxygen (Li-O
2) battery performance.
A new study published by the researchers in the
Advanced Functional Materials journal describes a combination of materials developed by them, which are stable with a Li metal anode the cell’s negative part. ....

Study Advances Stable and Practical Electrolytes for Li-O2 Batteries

Study Advances Stable and Practical Electrolytes for Li-O2 Batteries
Written by AZoMMay 7 2021
Under the guidance of the University of Liverpool, a study performed in collaboration with Johnson Matthey PLC and Loughborough University has been making considerable advances in the development of practical and stable electrolytes for lithium-oxygen batteries.

The lithium-oxygen (Li-O
2) battery (or lithium-air battery) is made of Li-metal and a porous conductive framework as its electrodes discharge energy from the reaction of oxygen from lithium and air. The technology is in its initial stages, but in theory, it could offer far greater energy storage compared to the traditional lithium-ion battery. ....

Billion into that. the perimeter system is just about in tact and complete. there are lots of other things we have to do. but the perimeter system is complete. and it is the best new orleans has ever seen. 8 to 13 feet on the outside. that s a level you can handle. prior to hurricane katrina this system will be built based on one particular hurricane. since katrina we learned a lesson. we have a suite of different hurricanes coming in at different sizes. we put them in a model and that s the design parameters. it is not based on one hurricane whether it be katrina or isaac. a lot of hurricanes have had a projected track like this one to come in west of the city proper which is the worst case scenario for the city of new orleans. thankfully it is not as strong, but it is moving ....
