Space Force begins onboarding cyber specialists -- Defense Systems

The U.S. Space Force has begun transferring more than a thousand cyber professionals into its ranks as of Feb. 1 and plans to start recruiting talent from across the military branches this year.
There is a spectrum of threats that are out there everything from reversible jamming of satellites.and there s cyber threats, Gen. John Raymond, the Chief of Space Operations told reporters Feb. 3, which is why it s so important for us to have those cyber professionals on the Space Force team, organic to our team. They will be part of our crew force, they will understand the cyber terrain of space and help us protect this critical domain from that threat. ....

Citizen satisfaction with government service continues to drop, according to the latest rankings from the
American Customer Satisfaction Index. Their 2020 report on the federal government released Feb. 8 showed a drop of 4.4% to 65.1 out of 100. The Departments of Commerce and Agriculture were high scorers among government agencies; Treasury and the Social Security Administration scored the lowest. The survey measures citizen perceptions of ease of government processes, clarity of government information, website quality and the professionalism of government customer service.
Former White House Chief of Staff
Denis McDonough was confirmed by the Senate to lead the
Department of Veterans Affairs. The vote was 87-7. McDonough will become just the second non-veteran to lead the agency. ....

A group of Capitol region House Democrats led by Rep.
Don Beyer (D-Va.) is asking the Office of Personnel Management to require agencies to offer employees administrative leave to get COVID-19 vaccinations. Agencies are permitted to offer administrative leave – paid leave that does not count against an employee s vacation or sick time – for vaccination, but there is no requirement that agencies do so.
