Barack Obama sat down with Bruce Springsteen for a series of wide-ranging conversations that will hit Spotify as an exclusive original podcast the newest entry in the company’s expanding slate of audio programming.
“Renegades: Born in the USA” is an eight-episode podcast featuring the former president and The Boss, who have been friends for over a decade, “in deep and revealing conversation,” according to Spotify. In the show, the duo discuss topics spanning race, fatherhood, marriage, and the state of America. ....

After nearly a year of closures, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has given movie theaters in New York City permission to reopen at limited capacity starting on March 5.
During his daily press briefing, the Empire State leader said cinemas in the city will be permitted to operate at 25% capacity, with no more than 50 people. Moreover, other safety measures such as masks, social distancing and heightened sanitizing measures will be required. Last October, New York venues outside of the city were allowed to reopen with similar restrictions. ....

“Get over here!” because Warner Bros. has unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming “Mortal Kombat” movie, full of blood, guts and fatalities.
The movie, which is the third live-action feature based on the popular video game series, will not have any connection to its underperforming 1995 and 1997 predecessors. Instead, director Simon McQuoid, in his directorial debut, will take the movie in its own direction while also incorporating some of fans’ most beloved aspects of the gaming franchise, including fatalities ultra-violent finishing moves designed for each character to win a fight in the most dramatic and bloody way possible. ....

In tackling one of the most notorious feuds in pop culture history, director Tim Story used one guiding principle: “It’s not war; it’s sibling rivalry.”
Those rivals would be Tom and Jerry, the beloved Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters who first came to exist out of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1946. The duo are now relaunching in a live-action/animation hybrid movie that debuts Feb. 26 on Warner Bros. and HBO Max.

“The Undoing” has now surpassed 12.3 million viewers, with 48% coming from digital viewing,
Variety has learned. This makes the HBO miniseries headlined by Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant the premium cable network’s most-watched show of 2020, surpassing the audience for both seasons of “Big Little Lies.”
The psychological thriller and mystery drama, written and produced by David E. Kelley, directed by Susanne Bier, and featuring Donald Sutherland, Lily Rabe and Noma Dumezweni, was a ratings success for HBO from its Oct. 25 debut to its finale on Nov. 29. ....
