Kingman Jail dealing with COVID-19 outbreak among inmates Mohave County Sheriff s Office and last updated 2021-01-06 12:21:11-05 KINGMAN, AZ â Sheriff officials are reporting Wednesday that a COVID-19 outbreak has led to multiple inmates testing positive for the coronavirus. Mohave County Sheriff s Office said the Adult Detention Facility has identified 18 new positive inmates in one housing unit. Jail Commander Captain Don Bischoff said several inmates began reporting COVID-like symptoms that included body aches, headache, and loss of taste and smell on Monday. Five inmates were immediately tested with rapid collection test kits which revealed that they were all COVID-19 positive, according to the sheriff s office.
A familiar suspect was arrested this week in a possible scheme to steal Christmas. According to Mohave County Sheriff’s officials, the Grinch became the subject of a county-wide manhunt in mid-December. Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies elicited the public’s help through social media in locating him, and the Grinch was ultimately apprehended on Monday – all of which was documented this month on the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page. Mohave County Jail Captain Don Bischoff, who organized the facetious series of Grinch-themed posts on Facebook this month, says the Grinch remained in custody at the jail without bond as of Wednesday morning.
