New Mexico health officials yesterday reported 237 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the statewide total so far to 183,023, with the health department designating 134,105 of those cases as recovered. Bernalillo County had 79 cases, followed by Doña Ana County with 48 and Sandoval County with 15. Santa Fe County had eight new cases.
The state also announced 11 additional deaths, including a woman in her 80s from Santa Fe County. There have now been 3,635 fatalities statewide. As of yesterday, 247 people were hospitalized with COVID-19.

Over the weekend, New Mexico reported 856 new cases of COVID-19: 571 on Saturday and 285 on Sunday. Santa Fe County had a total of 28 new cases 20 on Saturday and eight on Sunday. There have now been 180,571 total cases since the start of the pandemic, 120,051 of which the health department has designated as recovered.
The health department also announced 27 additional deaths: 14 on Saturday and 13 on Sunday, including two from Santa Fe County: a woman in her 50s who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions, and a man in his 80s who was a resident of the BeeHive Homes Santa Fe facility. There have now been a total of 3,529 deaths statewide. As of yesterday, 292 people were hospitalized with COVID-19. ....

Hospital Leaders Expect More Vaccines, Urge Patience

New Mexico health officials yesterday reported 315 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the statewide total so far to 177,867; the health department has designated 112,051 of those cases as recovered. Bernalillo County had 120 cases, followed by Doña Ana County with 41 and Sandoval County with 22. Santa Fe County had nine cases.
The state also announced 13 additional deaths, including a woman in her 90s from Santa Fe County. There have now been 124 deaths in Santa Fe County and 3,412 statewide. As of yesterday, 396 people were hospitalized with COVID-19.
The health department yesterday also announced it will be adjusting the way it reports county-level vaccination figures on its vaccination dashboard, after discovering the reports were pulling data based on where vaccinations were taking place versus New Mexicans county of residence. DOH, hospital leaders talk about COVID-19 vaccine rollout, COVID-19 spread

As New Mexico looks to move to phase 1B of its COVID-19 vaccination plan, nearly 400,000 New Mexicans have signed up to get their name on the list, Health Secretary-designate Dr. Tracie Collins said in a press conference Monday.
As of Monday, and citing information from 81 percent of providers, Collins said the state had received more than 170,000 doses from the federal government despite a rocky process on the federal level and administered 78,143 of those doses, including more than 30,000 in the last week.
Those who qualify for a vaccination “will receive a notification when a vaccine is available at a nearby location” and be able to set up an appointment, Collins said. ....
