British American Tobacco fined €107 million by Dutch court for unpaid tax

British American Tobacco (BAT), the tobacco manufacturer behind brands such as Lucky Strike and Dunhill, has been fined 107 million euros following a dispute with the Dutch Tax Authority. This confirmation came after a ruling by the court in Noord-Holland. According to the court, BAT's profits were approximately 1.8 billion euros higher than what was reported to the Tax Authority. In addition to the fine, taxes must also be paid on the profits.

Dutch privacy foundation sues software giant Adobe for privacy violations

The Dutch privacy foundation Stichting Data Bescherming Nederland (SDBN) is suing computer software giant Adobe, alleging that the company secretly collects and shares personal data of millions of Dutch citizens with companies in the online advertising market. The foundation demands that Adobe cease these practices and compensate the affected Dutch citizens for any damages.

VanMoof had debts of about 144 million euros when it went bust

Electric bike manufacturer VanMoof had 143.8 million euros in debts when it went bankrupt, Financieele Dagblad reports based on documents submitted to a court in New York by the bankruptcy administrators. The documents are part of an application to suspend pending proceedings in the United States from a VanMoof customer who had an accident, bankruptcy administrator Jan Padberg told FD.
