Us. Reporter thick black smoke billowed down residential streets as neighbors left their homes. We got the nice big old cloud of it at certain points and then the wind would shift. Yeah, it was quite a sight. Reporter somehow the driver was able to escape from the cab of the tanker. The fire raged for about an hour melting the pavement, guardrail and igniting the nearby hillside. Then firefighters sprayed the inferno with foam and finally got it under control but the damage to the roadway was done.
