Germany’s Volkswagen Group hopes to more than double its market share in the United States by 2030, and it’s counting on a cute electric remake of its classic VW Microbus to help it get there.
The VW ID Buzz is expected to go on sale in 2023 in the US. The production version hasn’t been unveiled yet, but the ID Buzz concept, unveiled in 2017, was clearly modeled on the beloved VW bus of the 1960s and ’70s.

2022 Audi E-tron to receive more efficient powertrains

After the E-tron has run its course, it will be replaced by a new SUV, possibly carrying a Q8 E-tron nameplate. The E-tron and E-tron Sportback were introduced in 2019 and 2020 respectively, and are due for a mid-cycle refresh in 2022.
The E-tron is built upon Volkswagen group’s MLB platform, which was originally designed for internal combustion powered vehicles. At the same time as the refresh, Audi plans to release the Q6 E-tron, which will ride upon a more appropriate PPE platform designed for EVs, jointly developed with Porsche.
“The Q6 E-tron will compete in a different market segment to the E-tron and E-tron Sportback,” according to Autocar’s source. “It’s smaller — roughly the size of the [conventionally-powered] Q5. However, the dedicated platform will allow it to offer interior and load-carrying space similar to today’s Q7.”

This will enable the Audi e-tron to better compete with the Tesla Model X and Jaguar I-Pace.
Audi's electric expansion is about to begin with the launch of the e-tron GT this summer as the German automaker prepares to become an EV-only brand by 2026. Don't think, however, that Audi has forgotten about its first EV: the e-tron. As battery technology has improved since the electric SUV launched in 2019, Autocar reports that Audi is planning a major update for the e-tron and e-tron Sportback as part of a mid-cycle facelift.
As part of the update planned for 2022, the e-tron and e-tron Sportback will be upgraded with new battery technology offering an increased range of 373 miles in both variants.
