Backward Taluks: Economist to Head New Panel to Study Backward Taluks: CM Belagavi | Hubballi News

The chief minister of Belagavi, Siddaramaiah, announced the formation of a new panel chaired by an economist to study the backward taluks in North Karnataka. The committee aims to address the demand for additional funds for the socio-economic backward taluks in the region. This initiative is reminiscent of the DM Nanjudappa Committee set up in 2000 by the SM Krishna government. The government will allocate Rs 3,000 crore annually until the committee submits its report in six months.
