In response to Donald Trump’s federal indictment for trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election, right-wing media have embarked on a smear campaign against the entire investigation, spreading misleading and baseless myths to obscure the nature of the charges and the evidence being presented against the disgraced former president.  Since the indictment was filed, Trump’s lawyers and right-wing media have offered flailing defenses and pro-Trump spin, as well as falsehoods about the charges.
