In myanmar, police have filed criminal charges against the civilian leaders who were deposed in a military this week. Theres been no word on the whereabouts of either Aung San Suu Kyi or deposed president win myint since monday. The United Nations said the charges just compounded the undermining of the rule of law in myanmar and the Democratic Process and they called for the Immediate Release of the leaders. For a second day, protesters banged pots and sounded car horns in the countrys largest city. Our reporter Nyein Chan Aye filed this report from yangon. Pots banging people are showing their frustration and anger against the Military Coup. It has taken place on monday. This is the second night in a row people in general have been banging pots and pans and using their car horns in protest against the Military Coup that too
Lets start with the Military Coup in myanmar. Police have filed several charges against the elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi. She hasnt been seen since her arrest on monday and remains in custody. The charges she faces are unexpected. First, shes charged with breaching the countrys strict import and export laws. Shes also accused of possessing Unlawful Communications devices, and we know that is related to six walky talkies used by her Security Guards and which the Authorities Say were found in Aung San Suu Kyis residence. Heres our South East Asia correspondentjonathan head. Any Walkie Talkies in her home would have been used by Security Guards. Everyone will know that is a device. Its a way of trying to neutralise. Just think about this. The military lots there too because she has one every election by really significant margins. On trump. Im howard kurtz and this is mediabuzz. The debate will be hosted by bret baier and Martha Maccallum. I spoke to the anchor of the story from new york. Martha maccallum, welcome. Hi, howie, good to be with you. Howie i havent seen a build up like this for a first debate at the beginning of a campaign since that 2015 Fox Debate With Political Newcomer donald trump. I turned to the other channels i see fox debate. What are people saying . Why do you think that is . I think theres a lot of enthusiasm. I think people are much more politically engaged and probably since that 2015 debate and i think that people see this as , you know, entertainment that is very eye opening in terms of whats going on in the political world, so i think its a huge opportunity for these candidates on this stage and we see it acrosstheboard that people are just more interested in politics they are more interested in whats going on, so i think its great. Howie people didnt talk about politics or talk abou
For next weeks debate, his super pac has advised him to take a hammer to Vivek Ramaswamy but defend trump if trump is attacked by chris christie. Here was some reaction after Fulton County d. A. Fani willis indicted trump and 18 codefendants for state rico violations. South carolina senator tim scott said this. We see the legal system being weaponized against political opponents. That is unamerican and unacceptable. Vivek ramaswamy said that should he become president , he would pardon trump. The reality is this, these are politicized persecutions through prosecution. Trumps former Vice President mike pence, who has criticized trump for putting himself above the constitution, says he prefers that trumps fate be decided, quote, by voters, not criminal courts. Ron desantis said i think its an example of the criminalization of politics. I dont think this is good for the country. Even chris christie, who has been consistently critical of trumps underlying conduct told cnn, he thought that
