Europcar 證實正在討論以每股 0.5 歐元的潛在報價出售，而福斯已重啟談判，正在促成交易。兩位消息人士表示，若談判成功，雙方最早可能在周三宣佈合作。
Europcar 是歐洲租車龍頭，但去年疫情的爆發波及旅遊業，導致該公司營收驟降 45%，淨虧損一度達 6.45 億歐元，Europcar 將於周三公佈上半年財報。
福斯過去曾擁有 Europcar，並於 2006 年以 33 億歐元售予歐洲投資集團 Eurazeo。不過，鑒於消費者傾向租車而非買車的趨勢興起，福斯 6 月底表示正考慮以每股 0.44 歐元的報價收購 Europcar 的多數股權，但最終遭 Europcar 拒絕。

路透對美、歐從玩具到電腦設備的十多家供應商和零售商的調查發現，所有業者都預計，由於全球貨櫃短缺以及深圳鹽田港壅塞，今年消費旺季的庫存將延遲長達數周。
零售商面臨的風險是商品大量缺貨，玩具商 MGA Entertainment 執行長 Isaac Larian 表示，該公司在鹽田港的貨物高達數百個貨櫃，若未來無法為零售客戶提供足夠庫存，將嚴重影響聖誕節銷售。
標普全球 (S&P Global) 的數據顯示，鹽田港的壅塞雖然只是全球航運塞車的一部分，但該港是亞馬遜在中國最大裝卸貨港，截至 5 月 31 日三個月內處理的發貨量佔整體的 32.4%。
儘管鹽田港已於 6 月 24 日重新開放，但「貨運噩夢」 (Shipageddon) 仍存，全球貨輪訂單滿載、貨櫃滯留、港口擁擠，產品堆積在工廠、倉庫、碼頭。
密西根州立大學商學院供應鏈管理副教授 Jason Miller 表示，零售商通常會以最快的速度銷售商品，以至於他們無法大幅提高庫存水平。
然而，Miller 示警，若目前的消費熱度繼續下去，不包含汽車業的零售商將不得不增加約 651 億美元的庫存，以達到與 2019 年相同的節日前銷售庫存水準。
英國零售商 Poundland 的 Pepco Group 執行長 Andy Bond 表示，目前缺貨已成為每天最大挑戰。一些服裝賣家還正在考慮空運，包括擁有 Tommy Hilfiger 和 Calvin Klein 品牌的 PVH 集團 (PVH-US)。
